Jamie has created something new and it has the potential to be huge. Different worlds, colors, runes, characters, fortresses, angles, demons, fairies, goblins and so much more. Basically, without giving anything away, a company used technology in a new way and broke something fundamental in the universe. Worlds that were closed have now been opened and what is on the other side could be anything or anyone. How do you fix something like this? Time for a quest maybe? I can't wait for the next book. Well done Jamie!
Jamie has done it again. More new “worlds†created along with the most interesting of characters. You sort of know where you start and then everything morphs into imagination and creativity. Game within a game? Just what is real and what is a game? Can one really cross back and forth? How many different portals are there and does each one lead to a totally different “world�So many questions! So few answered. So hang on. The stage is set for a huge number of options, spin-offs and parallels. Should be fun for a long time!
I like the premise of this story and it looks to be a great universe for multiple writers.But, I have two big problems with this story.1. The MC and other characters in the real world don't come off as a real people. He is so in love with his dad fiance that he is spending a huge amount of his money to see what is supposed to be an incomplete copy of her. But while talking to the company representative, he gets a hard on just from seeing she doesn't have panties on? A company representative trying to sell this guy on the game and she excuses herself to go to the bathroom and take off said panties? She offers to 'help' him jerk off?2. I like characters with a semblance of intelligence. The MC comes off as a college kid who uses the F word non-stop. 133 times the F word was used in 280-some pages.
I hated this one. I admit freely that it’s just me this time but I am not that mc and couldn’t live with myself if I was. Then it ended without any real answers. Answers that would surely of made me hate it even more if I had to guess. Sorry but this one wasn’t for me.
This was pretty exciting, like a wooden roller coaster in a fog, unseen turns that don't break your neck.I had fun with it, intrigued as to who else will bring it.SAO meets DOOM here, but I wonder whose going to bring Riften, or Elder Scrolls... Ghost Recon...
Pretty darn good book. First 40% or so was a little slow and was setting up the world. After that it gets interesting and fun. Lots of places for it to go, we just have to wait and see what happens next!
This is a good book. You should read it. I like the story. The characters are fun. Didn’t know how this was going to get us there but it did
The world building is cohesive and interesting. Corporate intrigue creates new worlds by accident and the government steps in. A blend of different mythos and good story telling.
